Melody of Oblivion

Wow. This anime is interesting. I'm on episode 18 and I'm still not quite sure what is going on. A lot of weird things happen in this anime and I think it may be symbolism for something. But I have no clue yet. The story itself is pretty good. The art is good, but I have an issue with them. They tend to re-use footage a lot, specially for action scenes. The music is great, and goes well with the show, and there are some comic moments. But there is always a surreal feeling in the show. You get the feeling that nothing is what it seems.

I usually look for action in animes, or great stories. This anime potentially falls into the latter category. Like I said before, the story involves a lot of symbolism (I think) because you see some things to which you say "WTF?!" but all the characters on the show are like "oh... yeah".

They re-use footage a lot for certain parts of the action. I can't tell if its them being lazy, or if there is some significance to it. Overall, its a good anime. I mean when I think about it, it sounds a bit dull, but when I watch it, I can't wait to get to the next episode. First anime I've seen that I'll admit might have good symbolism and all that "deep meaning" hooplah... though I'm still not quite sure what's going on. Don't get me wrong, there is a story and action and characters. But there is also... you'll see.

So I'm not confident whether you'll love it or not, but I think you owe it to yourself to check it out.
