Su-30MKI

The Russian Su-27 Flanker is one of the most successful fighter designs. Its range, weapons-load and thrust-to-weight ratio give it raw power unmatched by its competition. But when India asked Russia for a high-performance multi-role fighter, it wanted something more. And that is what India got.

Upgraded with an extremely powerful phased-array radar as well as French and Israeli avionics, the Su-30MKI takes the design's raw power and couples it with top-of-the-line technology. A combination of canards and thrust-vectoring engine-nozzles make the Flanker's already super-maneuverable airframe even more agile.

India's planned fleet of 230 Su-30MKI's will give it a deadly strike-platform, as well as the best air-superiority fighter in the region.
